Our Future Developments And Details:
- The system has a new feature set that optimizes resource allocation and profit. While booking a move, the software will look at available resources (truck, movers, etc) on the customers requested move date. If there are a lot of resources available and the move date is within a specified nearby date, rather than risk those resources remaining idle the program will automatically offer discounts or incentives to the customer to increase the likelihood that the move will be booked. Also, if the move is a large move, above a certain predefined threshold, then the software will prioritize this move over other moves that have already been booked and do an automatic “reschedule” of the other moves. So, the new feature helps to ensure that the moves get booked while also optimizing resource allocation. In other words, the software has features to optimize profit and resource utilization.
- If a move is not booked, the software will periodically email the potential customer with incentives to try to secure the move.
- The software will look at the moves scheduled for a given day as well as the requested move. If two or more moves are nearby or have similar routes and do not fully utilize a truck, then the software will automatically assign multiple jobs to one set of resources. This is particularly important for inter-state moves (for example, picking up in two different Florida cities and then delivering to NYC and Boston). Because the software is managing the moves, a discount or incentive can be automatically offered to
- The software will also calculate costs for international moves. In particular, it can configure and allocate space in shipping containers to optimize cost. Again, multiple moves could share shipping containers to save the moving company cost and book multiple jobs.
